Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Mar 10: In a bid to inculcate confidence among the migrant Kashmiri Pandits putting up in various parts of country including Jammu, the state government today ordered for the creation of 3,000 supernumerary posts for the migrant Kashmiri Pandit youth in the different government departments in the Kashmir valley. The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting chaired by Minister for Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs and Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today. During the meeting extensive discussions were held on relief and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants. During the meeting it was decided that Apex Advisory Committee (AAC), an apex body of representatives of Kashmiri migrants would be reconstructed. It was decided that 3000 supernumerary posts for providing employment to migrant youth in the valley under Prime Minister's Package for return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants would be created. Relief Commissioner has been asked to collect data of migrant unemployed youth who are registered as Kashmiri migrants in Jammu or outside the State. The Relief Commissioner has been asked to enjoin the youth to submit their details within a period of 20 days so that the process is speeded up. The minister was informed during the meeting that presently 18,589 families out of 41,117 migrant families are drawing relief. The minister was also given a brief regarding the facilities and living conditions in various camps including Purkhoo, Muthi, Nagrota and Jagti in the Jammu division. He said that he would carry out on spot inspection of these camps in due course of time to have a first-hand experience of living conditions there. The Minister directed Secretary Revenue, Vinod Koul to constitute a grievance cell in the office of Additional Secretary Revenue so that the grievances of the Kashmiri Pandit migrants are looked into and solved as well. Besides Koul, the meeting was attended by Commissioner Relief, Jammu, Deputy Commissioner Relief, Assistant Commissioners Relief and other senior officers. It would be in place to mention here that central government had announced many sops for the migrant Kashmiri Pandits to return to Kashmir valley.
