| Director Health involved in Drug Kit scam: DAK | | FIR does not name me: Director | | Javaid Naikoo

Srinagar, Mar 10 : The feud between the Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) and Director health services took a new turn today with the DAK accusing the director of involvement in the Drug kit scam. The Director while denying the allegations said his name did not figure in the FIR. The DAK has been accusing the Director health Services, Saleem-ur-Rehman and the department of withholding vital information about Swine Flu from the public.
The feud took a new turn today with the DAK talking about Saleem's involvement in the Drug it scam. The DAK President, Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan said that Dr Saleem should be sacked for his involvement in drug kits scandal and he has no justification to continue on his position. "State vigilance organization has registered a criminal case bearing FIR No 32/2012 against Dr Saleem under the Prevention of Corruption Act for his involvement in drug kits scam, The verification conducted by vigilance organization has prima-facie established that the purchase of drug kits by Dr Saleem in the year 2011 was in violation of the conditions of supply order and guidelines of government," added Nisar-ul-Hassan He said that majority of drug kits were purchased from a particular private firm whereas in supply order it was mandatory that all drugs should be supplied by central pharmaceutical subsidiary enterprises (CPSE's) and added that several drugs which were purchased were not included in the approved list of 103 medicines that was against the purchase preference policy (PPP) of government of India. DAK alleges that Dr Saleem in order to facilitate the commission of crime constituted a purchase committee on his own ignoring the central purchase committee/subcommittee already constituted by government for the purpose and despite involvement of Dr Saleem in a grave crime he was shielded by his political masters in previous government. While demanding his arrest on immediate bases, DAK said that new government must sack Dr Saleem and he should be prosecuted for his involvement in criminal activity. Sources said that Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and few other top brass officials who actually are close associates of him and all of them who would enjoy patronage of some Congress Minister are still holding the top posts in Health Department on the bases of political influence despite so much lawlessness and ongoing loot of Public Exchequer in the name of Development and despite rout to Congress across the country these officials are still enjoying administrative lawlessness. Pertinently when Early Times contacted Director Health Services Kashmir,Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, he said that FIR number mentioned in DAK statement does not contain his name. "Check the FIR first, it clearly says the then Director without my name and also there are many other officials and this case is simply frivolous," added Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman adding 'many other officials are also mentioned in the FIR including officials of NRHM, it is a frivolous case of 2010-2011,DAK is not a Registered body but a self styled body of Doctors. Pertinently after this Conversation with Director Health Services Kashmir, when early times contacted DAK Spokesman, Dr Riyaz Ahmad Daga said that name mentioned in FIR is none other than Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman who is presently Director Health services Kashmir and he is only trying to mislead Journalist on this issue. |
