Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 11: Government on Tuesday attached the Director Information Mukhtar-ul-Aziz and revoked his order. An official spokesman said in the interest of administration, Government Order No.1091-GAD of 2014 dated 21.10.2014, to the extent it pertains to the transfers and postings of Mukhtar-ul-Aziz, KAS, and Soujanya Kumar Sharma, KAS, is hereby revoked. Consequent upon the above, Soujanya Kumar Sharma,KAS, shall report to the General Administration Department and await further orders of adjustment. Pertinently, Early Times had carried series of stories highlighting the follies of the incumbent Director Information Mukhtar-ul-Aziz, who was appointed by the ousted NC- Cong regime a few days before the Model Code of Conduct was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the 2014 assembly polls. Aziz, who is considered to be a close aide of the NC General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar, was given the plum positing to ensure that he helps the NC's cause during polls. Congress had opposed his appointment but Aziz managed to get a stay from the court and held on to the chair of Director Information despite facing stiff opposition. |
