JDA organizes anti- Tobacco workshop

Jammu, Mar 10 : One day workshop on Anti-Tobacco was organized for the Officer and Staff of Jammu Development Authority in collaboration with International Union against TB and Lung Disease Voluntary Association in collaboration Dr. NC Prabhakar was the Resource Person.
Mubarak Singh Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority was the Chief Guest and JK Anand Secretary Jammu Development Authority presided over the Workshop. In J&K more than 2.3 million of people use Tobacco out of which 21.9% use Tobacco in smoking form. And 8 Lacs will die untimely death due to serious Tobacco related diseases, revealed by Dr. NC Prabhakar during one day workshop for Jammu Development Authority. Dr. Sanjay Turki District Health Officer Jammu from the Health Department made the Power Point Presentation regarding ill effect of the Tobacco consumption. The other speakers are GR Bhagat Retd. IAS Secretary to the Govt. Planning Department explained the role of civil society in crumbing desmans. Munish Sharma Advocate explain the various section of COTPA Madam Chib Senior Principal Representing the Education Department explain the role of education in Tobacco Control Programme. Mubarak Singh stress the need for the implementation of COTPA and assured full cooperation and help in connection with implementation of said programme.
