Congress seeks clarification from Modi on Masarat Alam's release 3/10/2015 11:26:29 PM New Delhi, Mar 10 : The Opposition Congress today sought clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 'unawareness' of the Centre over the controversial release of Hurriyat hardliner Masrat Alam Bhat from jail in Jammu and Kashmir during Governor's rule. Addressing a news conference here, party spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that in Parliament yesterday, the Prime Minister had expressed his unawareness over the separatist's release while Home Minister Rajnath Singh exhibited dissatisfaction over the report submitted by the State government. However, now its is being said that the release of Alam was decided on February 15 during the Central Rule in that state. How and why should the Prime Minister and the Home Minister be unaware of a move taken by authorities under the direct control of the Centre, Mr Singhvi asked.
