Bail denied to accused in newly-wed 'rape' case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 10 Presiding Officer of Fast Track Court rejected the bail application of accused Prem Singh who was allegedly involved in rape with a girl who was married a day before of occurrence. After hearing Advocates JP Gandhi and Rajesh Sharma appearing for the applicant whereas APP GS Charak appearing for the state, Presiding Officer of Fast Track Court Y P Kotwal observed that in the present case, the accused with the help of other co-accused had abducted prosecutrix a newlywed bribe when along with her husband was going to her matrimonial home and after her abduction, the accused committed crime against her and more the investigation is in progress and if the accused is admitted to bail, therefore every possibility of accused to jump over bail and hamper with the prosecution witnesses. With these observations Court rejected the bail application. According to the police case that father of the prosecutrix lodged a written complaint with the Police Station Kanachak on January 25, 2015 marriage of his daughter was solemnized and on the next day when she left from her parental home after performing ritual called to matrimonial home at Akhnoor, kidnapped in midway. On this police registered a case u/s 366 RPC and during the course of investigation, the prosecutrix was recovered from the possession of Prem Singh son of Suram Singh r/o Jammu and after recording the statement of prosecutrix RPC 376 was added.
