Stop Pak before it's too late, caution experts | 'India needs to explore option of carrying out surgical strikes in PoK' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: Pakistan during the past few days has once again started talking about Kashmir and believes that all issues can wait but Kashmir has to be discussed. Pakistan talking about Kashmir has annoyed nationalist forces and they want Narendra Modi government to act against the neighbouring country. An analyst while talking to Early Times said that soon after Narendra Modi took over the reins of the country he had made it clear that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and Pakistan should forget about Kashmir. "After a brief lull Pakistan has once again started raking Kashmir issue and has started encouraging separatists in the Valley. India needs to make it clear to Pakistan once again that it should mend its ways or face repercussions," he added. Pakistan envoy to India Abdul Basit in an interview to Headlines Today said, "Pakistan viewed Jammu and Kashmir as the core issue. All the other issues, including terror, were a sub-set of the bigger and central Jammu and Kashmir issue," Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit told TV channel in an interview. The Pakistan envoy bragged that he has been meeting the Hurriyat leaders since August and "Indian government has not objected." Analysts are of the opinion that if Modi government fails to take a "tough stand" against Pakistan's interference in JK it can provide space to separatists in Kashmir and they could look for ways and means to foment trouble in Kashmir. "Assertions of Pakistan High Commissioner are important in the backdrop of Pakistan flags being hoisted in Srinagar and Tral during the rally of the Hurriyat hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani," the analyst added. He said before returning to Kashmir from New Delhi Geelani had held a long meeting with the Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in the national capital. "It seems Geelani was assigned the job of staging anti-India rallies in Kashmir," the analyst opined. Pertinently, soon after Geelani arrived from New Delhi in Srinagar Hurriyat Conference (G) organized a massive anti-India rally at Hyderpora in uptown Srinagar. Besides raising Pakistan flags, Geelani's supporters led by Masrat Alam Bhat raised pro-Pakistan and anti-India slogans. Soon after the rally ended Ministry of Home Affairs asked the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to take action against Masrat Alam Bhat, who was released soon after the PDP-BJP government took over the reins of the state following which Bhat was arrested and booked under Public Safety Act. After Alam's arrest Geelani addressed one more rally at Tral in south Kashmir where again Pak flags were hoisted leaving state government with no other option other than to curb Geelani's movement and place him under house detention. State Government has made its intentions clear that no anti-India activity would be tolerated. Similarly central government has to act and make it clear to Pakistan that it should mend it ways and refrain from poking its nose in internal matters of India. "The terror masterminds are roaming freely in Pakistan and leave no opportunity to spew venom against our country. Pakistan has even released Mumbai attack mastermind Lakhvi and the most wanted terrorists in India, Hafiz Sayeed, leaves no opportunity to deliver sermons to wage war against India," said a defence analyst. He suggested that India should keep the option of carrying out surgical strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) open. "If India fails to maintain pressure over Pakistan it won't mend its ways," he added. |
