Youth for Nation receive threats from anti nationals | Hoisting of Tricolour at Lal Chowk on May 16 | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: Social Organization that decided to take on anti national elements in Jammu and Kashmir by announcing hoisting of National flag at Srinagar's historic Lal Chowk on May, 16 next is now facing repeated threats from the antinational forces within the state and also from the fringe elements from Pakistan. While talking to "Early Times", Nimrandeep Singh President Youth for Nation said that soon after sharing the appeal video on social networking site, he started receiving threatening calls not only form hardliners in the state, but also from Pakistan. He said that he also received text messages from Pakistan which was not only threatening, but also promoted slogans favoring Huriyat leader Masarat Alam, Geelani and Yasin Malik. He said that few callers also warned him against his plan to hoist the Indian National Flag. "I am not alone, my friends from Muslim community and Hindu community are also with me---- this is not the issue of any religion, color or creed-this is the issue to keep our head high by issuing a warning to anti national elements that we will not allow their anti India and Pro-Pakistani agenda in Jammu and Kashmir" said Nimrandeep Singh. He said that he was hopeful that BJP which is in government today will help his organization and will felicitate the hosting of National flag at Lal Chowk. "BJP under the leadership of its National Youth President Anurag Thakur made a bid in the year 2011 to hoist national flag at Lal Chowk--- but the opportunity was denied to them by the previous National Conference government--- now I am of the opinion that BJP will have no objection in allowing us to hoist National Flag at Lal Chowk" said Nimrandeep. "After receiving threat calls, particularly from Pakistan and other countries--- I brought the matter into the notice of Inspector General of Police Jammu--- beside IGP Jammu, several intelligentsia officials also contacted me and kept the track of my activities" said Nimrandeep. He stated that as per plan all the members of his organization will start their journey from Jammu towards Kashmir by next week. He said that aim of his organization is not to create any law and order problem in the state, but to uphold the sovereignty of parliament resolution which clearly stated that Jammu and Kashmir is the integral part of India and the constitution gives them the right to hoist National flag anywhere within the territorial limits of the country including Jammu and Kashmir. He said that though many anti nationalist elements issued threat to him for his initiative, but added that he had also received support and calls from Nationalist persons who want to join him. The Youth for Nation in its 2 minute 13 Second video with national flag running in the backdrop seems clearly challenging separatist leaders like Geelani, Yasin Malik and Masarat Alam that their anti India rant could not be tolerated any more. The decision of Youth for Nation headed by Nimrandeep comes in the backdrop of recent development of hosting of Pakistani flags during Hardliner Huriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's rally at Hayderpora and Tral recently wherein Geelani supporters. It is further to be mentioned that BJP which is coalition partner to PDP in Jammu and Kashmir and also in government at centre had made similar attempt to host National flag at Srinagar "Lal Chowk" on January 26, 2011, but the then Omar Abdullah led NC-Congress government did not allow the BJP National Youth President Anurag Thakur to host the national flag. Even the then leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Sawraj (Now External Affairs Minister in Modi Government) and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley (Now Finance Minister in Modi Government) were detained from Jammu airport and escorted outside state's borders. |
