Tara Chand extends olive branch to PDP-BJP Govt to avoid probes in scams | "Ex DyCM uncomforable in Cong, exploring possibilities of other options | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: Following his "well-thought" decision to skip the crucial "unity rally" at Jammu on Sunday, one thing has become clear that former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, who is already under scanner, is not feeling comfortable in the Congress party. Source close to Tara Chand revealed that ex-Deputy Chief, who had virtually surrendered his powers to his controversial Additional Public Relation Officers, is looking for "other options" instead of continuing in the Congress party. Fearing that continuation in the Congress would be dangerous for him because some forces in the government would try to dig bungling during his tenure as minister, Tara Chand has reportedly opened channel of communication with other parties also but other parties have so far given cold shoulder response. "By skipping all function of the Congress party, Tara Chand wants to give a message to the PDP-BJP coalition government that he is not part of the campaign launched by the Congress party against coalition government", sources said and added that former Deputy Chief Minister has extend olive branch to the BJP and PDP leadership with a condition that state government would not investigate any scam of his tenure. Former Deputy Chief Minister is under scan for his role and his APRO's role during his tenure of Housing and Urban Development Minister and Education Minister. Petrol scam during his tenure as House and Urban Development Minister is already in the Court while some cases of corruption during his tenure as Education Minister are also came to the fore recently. Credible sources said that before Sunday's meeting, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, through one of his close confident, had dropped a message that Tara Chand must attend the "unity rally" because unity was must to take on BJP at this time. Tara Chand was very much that government agencies would match Sunday's rally keenly so he skipped the function to extend a hand of friendship towards state government. Credible sources said that despite repeated attempt by some loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad, Tara Chand refused to attend Sunday's rally.
