Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: Flouting service rules, a government employee working in department of health has been openly indulging in campaigning for a candidate in the ensuing elections of the Cantonment Board Jammu and allegedly indulging in intimidating tactics against his rivals. Eyewitnesses reported that Pawan Gupta, a pharmacist in Govt. hospital Gandhinagar has been campaigning openly in favour of a candidate contesting from Ward No. 3 and on Thursday, he led a group of certain people and forcibly got the ongoing work of tiling stopped. "Pawan Gupta intimidated the staff including the JE who was present and directed them to stop work immediately. On being objected to by the other party that included the rival contesting candidate, a heated altercation broke between two groups" informed an eye witness. Pertinently, Inderpal Kour and Adv Jasmeet Kour Pandey are rival candidates contesting from Ward No. 3. Meanwhile, sources also informed that Pawan Gupta who is brazenly flouting norms governing government servants has been posted as Pharmacist at Gandhi Nagar hospital for close to two decades as he enjoys patronage of a former Congress Minister from Jammu. |
