Jammu, May 7: Panic griped in SIDCO complex Phase-I Bari Brahmana in Samba district, after a group of six persons opened firing at a transporter, however, no casualty or injury is reported in the incident till last reports came in.According to police sources, the incident took place on Thursday afternoon when six youth in white colour Maruti car opened fire at one Vinod Kumar alias Binny, a transporter with country made pistols (kattas), the sources said that accused shot reportedly two bullets at their target however with a sheer chance of luck the bullets missed the same. "Soon after firing incident the accused from the spot, leaving the people like dumb bells, sources said adding, "after having information, a team of Samba police led by SSP Samba Joginder Singh rushed to spot and launched massive manhunt to nab the accused persons. SSP Samba when contacted said that nakas have been alerted and messages have been flased to neighboring district police administrations. He also added during preliminary investigations, it was found that Binny has an old enmity with some of the persons who allegedly had opened fire at him.The haunt on the part of police was in progress. A case in is connection stood registered with the Samba Police. |
