Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: Confusion and cacophony hit the District Police Lines Ramban when the men posted there were told that they would not be served their lunch as the mess had gone dry of rations due to paucity of funds. However, the situation was soon handled by the senior police officers including the Director General Police who ensured that the meals were made available to the men. As per reports, hue and cry on the part of the cops posted in district Ramban started after the Mess in charge told them that no food was available. Pertinently, the cops were already paying Rs. 1000 per head from their pocket towards mess charges. Aggrieved cops pleading anonymity said, " the Mess faced financial crunch as nafries from Reasi,Kathua and other districts did not pay their share of amount for the food to the tune of Rs 70,000 and the administration decided to realize the same amount from the pocket of the cops in district Ramban". The matter was brought to the notice of DGP K. Rajindera and IGP Jammu Danesh Rana who interfered and got the issue resolved. |
