Anganwari workers stage protest, demand hike in salary | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15: Anganwari workers / helpers today held a strong protest demonstration under the banner of Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association in support of their long pending demands at Press Club Jammu. A large number of Anganwari workers and helpers hailing from all districts gathered at Press Club Jammu and shouted slogans against the Government demanding hike in salaries of Anganwadi workers and helpers. Addressing the gathering, the leaders of the association said that the Jammu and Kashmir Government is paying very less salary to Anganwari workers Rs 3500 and to helper only Rs 1800 per month where as state contribution share is very less Rs 600 and Rs 300 respectively. They said that Haryana government is paying state share Rs 4500 per month to Anganwari workers and total Rs 7500. Meanwhile those who addressed the gathering including Lakshman Ravinder Singh , Subash Verma president ,Ashok Choudhary General Secretary Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh Jammu and Kashmir Swarna Choudhary president and Neelam Sharma General secretary Anganwadi workers welfare Association highlighted various problems and demands of Anganwadi workers and helpers. |
