Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 15: After Jammu University, the Central University of Jammu has also rejected the application of controversial officer Jai Kumar Sharma for the post of Finance Officer ( Registrar), advertised by CUJ, last year. The controversial officer, who is presently holding the charge of Director Colleges Development Council in Jammu University, has been held ineligible for the post of Finance Officer in Central University after scrutiny of the form by a two-member committee. The committee, comprising Prof R L Bhat and Prof Deepak Raj Gupta, has submitted its opinion in reference to the representation of Jai Kumar Sharma wherein he had requested for considering his candidature for the post of Finance Officer. Even as the document submitted by Jai Kumar contained opinion of State Law Secretary towards his eligibility, it conveyed a different interpretation in the light of advertisement. Therefore, the committee sought legal opinion from the Standing Legal Council of the Central University, who stated that Jai Kumar Sharma lacks the experience as required under the advertisement. In view of the Standing Council's opinion, the committee has finally ruled that Jai Kumar Sharma is not considered eligible for the post of Finance officer in the Central University of Jammu. Pertinent to mention that a Jammu University Committee had also recently held Jai Kumar Sharma ineligible for the post of Registrar and Controller Examination in the university besides recommending that he should not be given even the temporary charge of such top positions. |
