BJP leaders return empty handed, Mehbooba avoids political discussion | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 15: Three BJP leaders, who had gone to meet PDP, President Mehbooba Mufti, with a hope to break the impasse, returned empty handed after getting cold response from her. PDP president reportedly did not show any interest to discuss politics on the 40th day mourning ceremony of her late father. Credible sources said that three leaders BJP Dr Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister, Sat Sharma, CA, state chief of BJP, Bali Bhagat, former Social Welfare and Forest Minister, were scheduled to stay in Srinagar on Monday night but they returned on last flight as they did not receive any hint that Mehbooba Mufti is ready to form government with BJP, as of now. BJP leaders were hoping that after getting positive response from PDP president they would call Avinash Rai Khanna and other leaders to take the dialogue forward but all their hopes were dashed when Mehbooba Mufti avoided any political discussion. Credible sources said that BJP leaders were hoping that Mehbooba Mufti would drop some hints about forming the government during their much awaited meeting but PDP president did not discuss any political issue. "Instead of discussing politics, PDP president recalled contribution of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the development of the State. She rather talked about vision of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed during her meeting with BJP leaders", credible sources disclosed. Some eye-witnesses said that BJP leaders were visibly upset after meeting the PDP president as their hopes to break the stalemate were dashed. Instead of staying at Srinagar, BJP leaders returned to Jammu. Eagerness of BJP leaders to form the government can be gauged from the fact that former Industries and Commerce Minister, Chander Parkash Sharma also reached Srinagar despite the fact that party had not asked him to do so.
