Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15 (JNF): In a PIL, seeking recovery of sales tax and VAT from defaulters, a high court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat today directed state to file objections and also directed Registry to list the PIL on February 29next. The petitioners have also sought direction to the ST commissioner, commissioner of commercial tax, J&K, deputy commissioner of commercial tax recovery, Srinagar, deputy commissioner of commercial tax recovery, Jammu and SSPs of Srinagar and Jammu to recover the amount of sales tax and Vat from all the defaulters who had failed to pay the tax under the J&K General Sales Tax Act and J&K VAT Act. The bench observed that the counsels for the parties had submitted that sections 5, 6 and 13 of J&K Civil Services Decentralization and Recruitment Rules, 2010 were separately challenged by the aggrieved person. Upon this, the bench directed the state to file objections and also directed Registry to list the PIL on February 29 next. Two rusted grenades, magazine found Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15: Two rusted grenades and a magazine of Indian Army of 1965 ordinance factory was recovered from the Khour area in Akhnoor tehsil here on the city outskirts. Police said rice mill Jaipal Sharma, a resident of village Chak Malal, was yesterday levelling his land by a JCB and in the process an ammunition box containing two rusted grenades and a magazine were found. A police party on receiving information rushed to the spot along with bomb disposal experts and the ammunition was disposed of. The ammunition was of Indian Army of 1965 ordinance factory and was unserviceable due to which it was disposed of to avoid any kind of loss of life and property. |
