Early Times Report Kathua, Feb 15: Demanding swift and stern action on complaints of women related crime and ignorance of police administration, Aditi Welfare India Charitable Trust (AWICT) along with victims of rapé, assault, molestation and dowry staged a massive protest. Large number of women led by Aditi Sharma social worker and chairman AWICT assembled outside Press Club of Jammu and took out a peace full march in the shape of rally to express resentments against the working of police, which allegedly trying to hush-up the matter of crime related to women. Amid slogans against the administration, particularly against police, protestors marched towards Tawi bridge, and staged a peace full protest. They demanded that government must take note of the situation and also punish the police officer, who found guilty in hushing up the cases and refused to register FIR's on women complaints. Aditi Sharma appealed the Governor N N Vohra lo look into the matter immediately and issue instruction to police department through DGP and Home department and ensure proper redressal of complain of crime against women. |
