Kathua, Feb 15: Former Chief Minister and Working President National Conference, Omar Abdullah today felicitated Surya Banu Partap for bagging Gold Medal in the Wushu competition during 12th South Asian Games played in Shilong.
Surya Banu Partap from Jammu and Kashmir bagged the Gold Medal in 60 kilogram category. Complimenting Banu Partap for bringing laurels to the state, Omar Abdullah hoped that the player will make his mark in other high profile events at the international level. He wished him all the success and asked him to concentrate on his practice in a big way to achieve excellence.
The Indian team got 11 gold, two silver and three bronze medals in the category with Banu Partap making a distinct mark. Kuldeep Handoo was the team coach.
