Vansh appreciates decision on State Sponsorship, Scholarship for budding Fencers 2/15/2016 11:46:10 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Feb 15: International Ace Fencer, Vansh Mahajan appreciated the decision of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jaya Lalithaa for announcing a financial assistance of Rs 3.00 lacs for fencing professional to help for participation in competitions. Jaya lalithaa said that Fencer Bhavani Devi who had won Silver Medal in Asian Fencing Championship besides who had won number of Medals in various fencing competitions will be awarded scholarship. Jaya Lalithaa reiterated her government’s efforts to promote sports and sports persons from the State and listed the various sops offered to them, including establishing new facilities and enhancing incentives to professionals who win medals in International Competitions. She ordered enrollment of Fencer Bhavani Devi in the Special Scholarship Scheme for Elite Sports persons to encourage her to win more International sports events. Fencer Bhavani Devi had bagged a Bronze Medal at the 18th Flemish Open Fencing Championship at Ghent in Belgium. Further she ordered under the Scholarship Scheme, beneficiaries are entitled to need based financial assistance of Rs.25.00 lacs per annum for five years so that they can train well and participate in international sports events including Olympics , win awards and bring laurels to the State and Nation. Ace Fencer Vansh Mahajan also appealed to Governor N.N. Vohra to introduce such State -Sponsored Scholarship Schemes and Need Based Financial Assistance for Budding Players so as to get training under Foreign Coaches for Exposure in Junior and Senior Categories so that they can perform well and bring laurels for the State and Nation in International Sports events.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
