Jammu, Mar 18: Supporters and followers of former union minister today held a special prayer meeting here for the speedy recovery and long life of their leader during an occasion organized by Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha. Pertinently former Union MoS for Defence, and Ex MLA Jammu (West) and Chief Patron of JCMS Prof Chaman Lal Gupta is ailing for the last a few months. Spokesperson said, "The Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha today organized an "Havan" at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road, Jammu, wherein early recovery of Prof. Gupta from illness and his longevity was prayed.
"Prof Gupta is a popular leader of Jammu who has always on forefront to take the cause of welfare and upliftment of the financially weak and down trodden persons of the society, participants recalled.
The religious rituals were performed by a renowned Pandit Subash Shastri while prominent who participated in the religious rituals were Vinod Gupta President, Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, Kavinder Gupta (Speaker), Rajesh Gupta (MLA), Amar Nath Gupta, Amar Chand Gupta, Om Parkash Gupta, Krishan Lal Gupta, Chander Mohan Gupta, Ram Charan Gupta, Ajay Gupta, Satish Gupta, Bhushan Pargal, Romesh Gupta (Ex President JCMS), Shiv Pratap Gupta, Raghbir Gupta, Arun Gupta, Prabhu Dayal Gupta, Vijay Gupta and C P Gupta. Kavinder Gupta and Rajesh Gupta in their brief address lauded the significant role of Prof Gupta in politics.
