Omar Abdullah targets PDP…on Twitter | | | Early Times Report srinagar, Mar 18: Even as the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Friday refused to accept any new demand from the Peoples Democratic Party, adding that it was not possible to form a Government in Jammu and Kashmir based on conditions, the PDP and the arch rival National Conference fired multiple tweets against each other on the social media. On the micro-blogging website Twitter, it was former Chief Minister and NC President Omar Abdullah initially taking a lead by tweeting over a six times within an hour of BJP speaking before the media. "Watch how Mehbooba Mufti will now try & claim that her party wasn't asking for anything new and how the PM has let down J&K," Omar tweeted. "If all she wanted was the Agenda of Alliance, that was a roadmap with a six year implementation period so what was the problem with time frame?," he made another tweet. "It seems she didn't know what she wanted from the Centre and got tripped up because her demands were too vague & her response too erratic," he continued to tweet. Omar was instantly escorted by his trusted lieutenants like Tanvir Sadiq and Junaid Azim Mattu who retweeted "And BJP says Talaq!" Wahid Wani a netizen however criticized Omar Abdullah saying : "@abdullah_omar @jkpdp Your assessment may b right, but Mehbooba has shown courage by refusing power! Name any other politician who would?" Tanvir Sadiq of NC who was almost bursting crackers online said: "Khaki shorts or trousers, the alliance is finally a nude story." Finding the NC youth wing, which is known for online activities going aggressive, the PDP took to the social media only to beat Omar and his team with the number of tweets. The PDP page had a rapid fire in store to fight back the opponents including BJP. "PDP has not set any new demands but only reiterated the implementation of 'Agenda of Alliance' as was earlier agreed with BJP," the party's twitter handler said. After this, it was tweets nonstop. "Agenda of Alliance says 'present position will be maintained on all constitutional provisions pertaining to J&K including special status'" the PDP said. The PDP added: "Agenda of Alliance seeks return of lands to rightful owners where land was not leased or acquired officially else compensation at market rates." "Agenda Of Alliance sought modalities for transfer of Dulhasti and Uri power projects to J&K as suggested by Rangarajan Committee Report," the PDP added. Within an hour the party made 19 tweets, three times more than Omar Abdullah did on his favorite platform. While things had been apparently going on smoothly and the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti had called on the BJP President Amit Shah on March 17, the things seem to have run into rough weather overnight. The BJP senior leader and party point man on Kashmir Ram Madhav today said: "We are not ready to accept any new demand. Whatever expectations are there, would be possibly fulfilled only after formation of a Government." "It's not possible to form the Government on conditions," he told reporters in the national capital. Madhav spoke a day after PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti met Shah in New Delhi. Madhav also said that the stalemate in Government-formation in Jammu and Kashmir was not because of the BJP but due to the PDP. "The prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir is not because of us. After Mufti Saheb's death, PDP had to choose a leader for the Chief Minister's post," he said. The State is under Governor's Rule since Mehbooba Mufti declined to form the Government in January after her father and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed died. |
