Sangh forces BJP to turndown PDP's conditions
3/19/2016 12:14:22 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 18: Bluntly statement of BJP general secretary, Ram Madhav not to form government with PDP on pre-conditions is result of Sangh's clear warning to the party on moving watchfully in J&K. During its meeting at Rajasthan, last week, Sangh leadership had taken very serious note of the eagerness shown by some BJP leaders of J&K to form government with PDP. Sangh had warned central leadership of BJP against giving importance to the J&K BJP leaders, who have no vision and conviction and their only aim was to get the power again.
Credible sources said that Sangh leadership had made it clear to the BJP high command that accepting conditions of PDP to form government will demoralize nationalist forces in the J&K so conditions should not be accepted. Sangh had also suggested BJP's central leadership to control J&K BJP leaders who have been showing desperation to form the government.
Meanwhile BJP on Friday refused to accept any new demand from the PDP and said it is not possible to form a government in Jammu and Kashmir based on conditions.
"We are not ready to accept any new demand. Whatever expectations are there, would be possibly fulfilled only after formation of a government," party general secretary Ram Madhav told reporters at Delhi. "It's not possible to form the government on conditions," Madhav, who was negotiating on behalf of BJP with PDP, said.
He spoke a day after PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti met Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah in Delhi.
Madhav also said that the stalemate in government-formation in Jammu and Kashmir was not because of the BJP but due to the PDP.
"The prevailing situation in Jammu and Kashmir is not because of us. After Mufti Saheb's death, PDP had to choose a leader for the chief minister's post," he said.
The state is under Governor's Rule since Mehbooba Mufti declined to form the government in January after her father and chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed died.
