Stranded passengers feel comfort after Bhadarwah-Doda road reopens

BHADARWAH, Mar 18: The Bhadarwah-Doda Road was reopened today for two-way traffic, leading to passage of over 100 Bhadarwah Doda -bound people stranded in many parts of the Chenab Valley following closure of the road at Sanai and near Bhalla due to heavy landslides evening.
Two-way traffic has been allowed from Bhadarwah to Doda in the afternoon today and around hundreds of vehicles, mostly passenger vehicles and trucks, carrying essential supplies and stranded from yesterday at Pul Doda and Bhalla were allowed to move to Bhadarwah.
The arterial road, the only all-weather road link between Bhaderwah and rest of the State was closed last evening . After many hours of long hectic efforts of the concerned maintaining road agency GREF 114 RCC, the road was made motorable today which gave relief to the passengers and administration.
Meanwhile the Batote-Doda-Kishtwar road, which was open till Thursday evening, was also closed due to shooting stones and landslides near Paki Hati , Malohri and Ragi Nallah . More than 200 passenger vehicles, including light motor vehicles and those carrying essential commodities, were stranded on both sides of the highway at several places.
