Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 18: The Special team AVTAR (Anti Vehicle Theft And Recovery) constituted by Dr Sunil Gupta, IPS, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu today nabbed a drug peddler alongwith consignment of 1800 intoxicant capsules which were recovered from his possession during a naka at Panama Chowk Jammu. "The accused has been identified as Ajay Dogra S/O Krishan Lal R/O Baba Lal Ji Chowk, Jullaka Mohallah, Jammu, police spokesperson said. Police spokesperson said, the AVTAR Team laid a special Naka near Panama Chowk and during naka checking the team signaled to halt to one Scooter bearing registration No: JK02J-6746 but instead of halting the rider tried to escape the naka. "Accordingly he was chased and intercepted by the police party, police said adding, "the rider of the scooter during questioning disclosed his name as Ajay Dogra of Jullaka Mohallah, Jammu. Police said, "On his frisking police recovered 1800 capsules of paravan spas (trade name) from his possession. It is pertinent to mentioned here that the accused is habitual drug peddler and is supplying drugs to local youth from quite long time. A case under FIR No: 69/2016 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at P/S Gandhi Nagar and further investigation of the case is going on.
