Villager injured in an abandoned explosive | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, June 5: A 35 years old man received injuries in his left index finger and thumb when he picked up an abandoned polythene bag carrying low intensity explosive while grazing goats/animals today in a forest near his house under the jurisdiction of Sunderbani police station. According to police sources, an investigation has been started in this matter and no FIR was lodged till the filing of this report. However, sources in police said that some villagers use local made explosive to kill wild animals and someone might have left the bag with explosive to kill wild animal. This afternoon Bachan Lal son of Om Parkash of village Chani went to the nearest forest to graze the animals. He touched a polythene bag abandoned in the forest and immediately he received injuries in his left index finger and thumb due to low intensity blast caused due to explosive material kept in the bag. He raised alarm and villagers rushed to the forest and rescued him to hospital at Sunderbani for treatment. "Such type of explosives mostly used by the hunters/ villagers to kill the wild animals, however, police have started the investigation and after inquiry needful (including FIR) will be done in this matter" said a senior police officer. |
