Early Times Report KISHTWAR, June 5: In order to boost Angling, the Department of Fisheries District Kishtwar took an initiative for stocking of Trout Seed in the natural water bodies of the District. As per the details available with "Early Times", as many as 5000 numbers of Trout Fry procured from Mother Trout Fish Farming Project Kokernag Kashmir has been stocked on Khora, Singpura, Bonjwah, Navnatoo and Kunthru nallahs of the district. The stocking of streams will enhance the Fish production besides opening the scope for Angling, one of the best known Sport Fisheries in the world. The stocking of streams will establish the stock in the natural water bodies and help to promote eco-tourism in the area. While talking to "Early Times" Assistant Director Fisheries Muzzaffar Mehraj Mintoo said that in order to increase the Fish Production and fulfill the increasing demand of the commodity the department is also going to establish Trout Rearing Units at Kijai, Sigdi, Wardwan and Galigad areas of the district in near future. |
