Jammu, June 5: Ambedkar Club observed 46 the shaheedi divas of martyr late Bhagat Amar Nath at Ambedkar School, Kabirnagar, Talab Tillo, Jammu. According to press release, the program started with the emotional welcome address by few members of Ambedkar Club and silent of two minutes followed by the floral tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath. On the occasion various speakers expressed their views on the life history and contribution of Shaheed Bhagat Amar Nath, who throughout his life worked for the rights of downtrodden, poor, (Wits and backward people. "Son of soil, he was born in a small village Champa in Batote Tehsil of Ramban district. After completing his school education from Batote, he got a job in Notified Area Committee Batote and then in Health Department", the speakers said, adding that as he was moved by the plight of the poor and downtrodden people of the society, he left the job after sometime and dedicated his services for upliftment of the underprivileged people of the society. In 1940 he remained associated with organisations like Megh Mandal, Harijan Mandal and other organizations working for the betterment of SCs. |
