Criminologist Society organizes yoga programme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 5: Criminologists Society of Jammu and Kashmir organized a one day yoga programme for the Advocates and Public Prosecutors of Jammu in the High Court Complex, Jammu here today. According to press release, the programme was organized in collaboration with Kaivlyadhama, Pune and Vichar Kranti Manch International, which organizations have been co-opted by the Union Health Ministry (AYUSH) to take the Common Yoga Protocol to the grass root level. Large number of senior and junior advocates from Jammu participated in the programme. While speaking about the connection of criminology and Yoga, Advocate Rameshwar Singh Jamwal ,president of Criminologists Society said that Yoga brings perceptible changes in mental makeup and even physical changes in brain cells and gene functioning occurs which brings positivity in the humans and this process has proved to be successful in changing criminal behaviors and the concept can be used to control spiraling crime. Sriyans Jain, President of Vichar Kranti Manch and well known Yoga expert initially taught the modes to practice Yoga postures and then spoke about the various health benefits of Yoga. He urged the legal fraternity to adopt Yoga as a way of life to curb various health problems occurring in legal profession. Lastly an interactive session was also held in which participants asked many questions about Yoga and its role in modern society and then all participants thanked the Yoga instructors for their contribution in the programme. |
