MPEJ criticizes govt over construction of highway for Amarnath shrine
6/6/2016 12:16:31 AM
Jammu, June 5: Kuldeep Kumar Rao and Ram Singh Chauhan both the active members of Movement for Peace Equality & Justice in a joint statement issued here, while reacting to the denial of State Government to construct highway for Amarnath pilgrims under the pretext of damage to the Forest and Environment.
According to press release, they said that those talking of Forest and environment forget that it is the result of un-reparable damage caused to the Forests in the valley which eventually became of the sole cause of unprecedented floods taking huge toll of life & property in 2014. They further said that no doubt the damage to the forests on Mughal road is far greater than the proposed Baba Amarnath highway; it can be of great importance for promoting religious pilgrimage in the valley. Why the BJP and Valley centric leadership of coalition Government is silent over it, is beyond one's imagination when it is of great benefit for valley as also other parts of the country.
