Early Times Report

Ramnagar/Majalta, June 5: Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday dismissed the allegations leveled by Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman Harsh Dev Singh.
In a statement a senior BJP leader R S Pathania said, " We want to set the records straight. First of all no public meeting was held by JKNPP at Balpud, Sundla and Palnu villages as claimed by Singh. He had claimed that he attended a 'Dangal' yesterday in Mohalla Bainsar of Sundla Village."
"Although Singh has given an never-ending list of problems being confronted by public of Jammu and we appreciate him for his sense of care for people of Jammu. He remained a senior cabinet minister for 3 years and an elected legislator for 18 years. We want to ask him what efforts and endeavors he had made to for resolve the issues he is raising today," Pathania said.
"JKNPP Chairman, could do much for the area which voted for him thrice," he alleged.
While further responding to Singh's unfounded and irresponsible statements on pay hike of MLAs , the BJP leader said, "In 1996 when he was elected legislator for first time, the pay of MLA was meager Rs. 3000, and when he was voted out of power the salary had risen to Rs. 35000-00. It now needs to be seen and examined that what was his reaction and whether he had opposed such a 11-12 times hike in the salary at those times on the reasons and grounds mentioned in details in his own press release."
On the another issue of least spending by MLA Ramnagar out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF), the BJP leader responded that though MLA Ramnagar has given approval for the works to the tune of over one crore or more but due to technical/administrative hiccups less money has been released. He said that JKNPP chairman seems to have blown out of the hinge and has not been able to digest the fact that he lost the last assembly elections
