| Raids intensifies against polythene bags, 50 Kg seized | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, June 7 : A team of State Pollution Control Board led by Divisional Officer, Kuldeep Bhan today conducted raids in various business establishments in Batote, Chanderkote, Karol and Ramban markets and seized about 50 kg of banned polythene bags. In last few days SPCB has intensified raids against hoarders of polythene bags that are banned under J&K Non-Biodegradable Material Management, Handing and Disposal Act 2007.
During the seizure drive, public was made aware about the ill effects of polythene bags on the environment. Shopkeepers were also warned not to use, store or throw polythene bags as the same shall attract strict legal action under law including on the spot fine and imprisonment. The team comprised of officers of Municipal committee and Police. |
