Jammu, June 7: The officers of various government departments of state have created a record of sorts by inviting applications from candidates under Actual line of Control category from the five district of Jammu division which, actually do not fall along the Actual Line of Control.
Recently, the recruitment agency, Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) issued a recruitment notification under advertisement No. 01 of 2016, Dated 01. 06. 2016 for the recruitment against various vacancies under state, division and districts in which online applications have been invited. Hundreds of these posts have been advertised by JKSSB under various categories including OM, RBA, SC, ST, ALC, OSC and ESM.
In Doda district, six posts under various departments have been reserved for ALC candidates under district cadre posts. The posts reserved for ALC candidates including one post each for Dental Assistant/Junior dental Technician, FMPHW, Junior X-ray Technician, Library Assistant and two posts of Junior Assistant.
Similarly, three post at each in district Kishtwar and Ramban reserved for ALC candidates under district cadre posts, six post in Reasi. Huge blunder was however seen in district Udhampur where 20 posts were reserved for ALC candidates including 13 posts for teachers while the districts does not share boundaries along IB or Loc.
Most of the posts were referred to JKSSB by Health and Medical Education Department and School Education Department. As per the advertisement, Departments seek ALC candidates from these districts, which don't share its boundary with Pakistan and China as the state shares its boundary with these two neighboring countries.
Ramesh Kumar, an aspirant said that topographical ignorance on the part of departments is really a matter of concern and it needs to be rectified.
He was dismayed that they were being taken for ride by keeping the aspirants in dark. "There is anguish and resentment among youth of the state and the youth is feeling cheated by recruitment agencies and Government departments", he said. When contacted JKSSB chairperson said that board is a medium between the candidate and government departments, to fixed categories for various posts being advertised by SSB is responsibility of concerned department concerned.
