BARAMULLA, June 7: Throwing norms to wind, Government Middle School has been clubbed with Primary school in Sopore Tehsil of this district has raised much public outcry, while the authorities have tried their level best to defend their mistakes.
According to sources that, in the past month government Middle School Darayee Sangrama was clubbed with Primary School Jamia Mohalla Sangrama which is totally against the norms of rationalization in the school education department.
The government primary school Jamia Mohalla Sangrama has 59 students on roll and two teachers were appointed under SSA scheme, sources told Early Times.
Sources quoting the order said that the clubbing of MS Darayee Sangrama with PS Jamia Mohalla was under proposal vide ZEO reference no: ZEO/Spr/179-80 dated 26/04/2016.
However the CEO Baramulla has written a letter vide no CEO/Bla/3675-76 where he has mentioned that (ZEO) are advised to keep in view the guidelines of clubbing and rationalization already circulated by this office, said sources.
Sources said that despite advising ZEO, MS Darayee was clubbed with PS Jamia Mohalla which is totally unacceptable and against the norms of rationalization.
One fails to understand how middle school was clubbed without following the norms as the case is entirely different and the situation has brought the department under scanner, said added.
A local resident of Darayee Bashir Ahmad said that, due to some vested interests of some blue eyed persons the Middle school Darayee Sangrama has been clubbed which is only having a roll of 11 students and 5 staff members including one master grade and four RRTs.
Before taking the decision, the concerned ZEO should have gone through the norms of rationalizations so that the wards of local populace would not have suffered. The primary school is located on the upper hills of Sangrama for which the students have to walk thousands of miles to cross the national highway, said a local resident.
Meanwhile it is learnt that, the District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Javid Ahmad Rather and Dy CEO Bla Manzoor Ahmad visited the PS Jamia Mohalla on June 3 and passed on spot directions to the Headmaster of MS Darayee to shift their school along with students to another middle school at the earliest.
Sources further said that, the directions passed by the concerned officials were not implemented yet, due to which PS Jamia Mohalla is suffering badly.
They said that education holds key to empowerment and emancipation of the society and therefore the concerned authorities should eschew the tendency of taking hasty decision which have potential to retard the growth of educational set up in the state.
