Early Times Report JAMMU, June 7: While the party ministers and senior leaders are busy in enjoying luxuries on State expenses, strong resentment is brewing among second rung leaders of the BhartiyaJanta Party in Jammu and Kashmir because of unprecedented delay in appointment of Vice-Chairmen of the State Corporations and Boards. Even after more than three months since re-installation of the PDP-BJP coalition Government, now under the Chief Ministership of Mehbooba Mufti, the BJP leadership has failed to take decision on appointing Vice-Chairmen of the eight corporations and Boards under the State Government, which are headless for the last more than a year. Earlier, the process was stalled in the wake of death of then Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed and the consequent imposition of Governor's rule on January 8, which remained in force till Apri 4 when Mehbooba Mufti took over as the new CM of PDP-BJP alliance. Even as Vice-Chairmen of some Welfare Advisory Boards, like Pahari, Gujjar-Bakerwal, SC, and Kissan were already appointed during the Chief Ministership of Mufti Mohd Sayeed, there has been no further movement with regard to appointment of Vice-Chairmen of the OBC Welfare Advisory Board and several headless Corporations despite a clear understanding between PDP and BJP over their respective share. On the other hand, lobbying among second rung leaders in State BJP for their nomination as the Vice-Chairmen, has reached to the level of frustration. On getting no response of the party high command and SanghParivar as well as the concerned ministers, the aspirants are now accusing their own Government of un-necessarily delaying their appointments to keep all powers in their hand. Instead of adjusting the partymen, the concerned ministers are preferring to keep their Boards and Corporation under their direct control and thus triggering resentment in the State BJP, said a senior leader on the condition of anonymity. |
