Rajouri, June 7: Inhabitants of village Bagla under the jurisdiction of Chingus police post (Rajouri police station) held a mass protest demonstration against a doctor of SNGS hospital and in-charge police post SGMS alleging harassment to the family members of a minor girl who died on Monday during treatment at SMGS hospital on Monday. Protesters lead by Khalil Ahmed, sarpanch blocked the Jammu-Poonch highway for more than 3 hours at Chatiyar alleging the girl died due to brain hemorrhage while the in-charge police post (SMGS) on the directions of the doctor, who said the girl died due to consumption of poisonous substance, was adamant to conduct post mortem and did not hand over the body to family member till 11 am on Tuesday.
Inspector Chaman Gorkha, SHO, Rajouri rushed to the protesters and assured them an action against the doctor and the in-charge police post if found involved in the alleged harassment. "We are in contact with our senior counterparts at Jammu and requested them to investigate the allegations leveled by the family members and villagers against the police and doctor" said SHO.
