One held, three bovine animals rescued | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 7: Continuing its extensive drive against bovine smugglers, the police today claimed to foiled bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of one person and rescuing three animals from his clutches during naka at Arnas in Reasi district. Police said, "The accused has been identified as Mohammad Shafi s/o Mirwaz r/o Thuroo Tehsil Arnas of Reasi district." "Based on specific information that some persons were on way towards Kashmir from Thuroo with animals without any legal permission, Police team of P/S Arnas alongwith nafri of SPP Bassan laid a special naka at Bassan under the Supervision of Zaffar Iqbal Nawaz,KPS SDPO and Sanjay Singh Rana,KPS Addl SP Reasi and overall supervision of Sujit Kumar, IPS SSP Reasi, police said. "During the naka checking police intercepted above said person and rescued 03 bovine animals from the clutches of said accused who failed to produce required documents for inter district transporting/ferrying animals, police said. "The accused person has been arrested, police said, adding, "in this regards, a case FIR No 37/2016 u/s 188 RPC stands registered at P/S Arnas and further investigation is in progress." |
