JUNTE urges administration to fulfill demands, strike continues on 7th day | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 20: The ongoing protest of the Non-Teaching Employees of the University of Jammu today entered into 7th day in support of their long pending issues. The Executive body again appealed the Jammu University authorities to consider the long pending and genuine demands of the Employees and come out with fruitful result at the earliest so that the work related to the student fraternity in particular and others in general may not suffer. During the demonstration, employees under banner of Jammu University Non Teaching Employees Union raised slogans for fulfillment of their demands. Speakers on the occasion while reiterating their demands also highlighted many other issues which is the pre-requisition for better working conditions in the University of Jammu. They alleged that the dilly dallying attitude of the University authorities forced the Non Teaching Employees to follow the agitation path which is neither in the interest of Employee nor in the interest of the University. They further elaborated that the Non Teaching Union has given enormous time to fulfill their demands but the authorities' remains deaf to ears. As scheduled, the Non Teaching Employees take out a protest march of the University of Jammu and completed in front of VC office amidst slogans. The executive body appealed the Vice Chancellor to consider their demands as early as possible to avoid further extension of protest demonstration. Thereafter, the meeting of the Advisory Committee was convened in the office of Union and it was decided to extend the Protest Demonstration for three hours from tomorrow (10.30am to 1.30 pm) till further directions. The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh, Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma and others. |
