Jammu, Dec 20: In continuation to the operation 'Sanjeevani', a special drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Sunil Gupta, today Gujjar Nagar police claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers and recovering 25 kgs of poppy straw (Bhukki) from their possession. "Following specific input, Police team on patrolling duty at Prem Nagar, Samadian Road under the jurisdiction of police post Gujjar Nagar, signalled a Santro car for Police check," police spokesman said.
He said, "On search of vehicle, Police Party recovered 25 Kgs Poppy Straw (Bhukki) from the possession of two persons seated in it," police said
Police have registered a case at Peermitha Police Station under relevant sections of law and have strated further investigations to ascertain source and destination of this consignment.
The operation was conducted by SI Shariq Majeed Incharge Police Post Gujjar Nagar and Inspector Javed Akhter SHO Peermitha under the supervision SDPO City North Vivek Shaker and SP City North, Dr Viond Kumar. |
