Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 20: A senior police officer is alleged to have come to the rescue of an SHO who was attached by PHQ with district police lines here for his alleged failure to handle a case. Going out of the way to help his 'blue-eyed' SHO, the senior officer had now got him transferred to another police range where he was trying to get him posted as SHO of an 'important' police station, police sources said. Due to the blessings of this Senior officer, he has earlier served as the head of various police posts in Jammu. However, after his promotion as Inspector, he was shifted outside Jammu, but the senior officer again managed his transfer back to Jammu, sources informed. In Jammu, he was posted as SHO of an important police station in the winter capital city, but as allegations of 'professional misconduct' piled up against him, the Senior officer, instead of taking action against him, got him transferred and posted as SHO of another police station in a peripheral area of the city, sources said. In the peripheral police station also, he did not mend his ways as a result of which allegations followed him there too, but his seniors were helpless to act against him because of his proximity with the senior officer. During his posting in Jammu, he never cared for his seniors and often ignored their phone calls because he used to report directly to the senior officer, sources alleged. However, following his failure to properly handle a case despite being an 'experienced' police officer, PHQ recently ordered his attachment with the DPL, but the senior officer, coming to his rescue again, got him transferred to another range, the sources added. The officer was now using his influence to get him posted as SHO in a district in his new range, sources alleged. |
