Srinagar, May 6: With the strict directions to all the government employees to ensure that Annual Property Returns are filed on regular basis, most of the government servants including IAS, KAS, Non Gazetted, Gazetted officers of the state government are not submitting their annual returns of assets.
The mandatory exercise is aimed at checking corruption and amassing of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income of the government officials/officers.
The Government led by Governor NN Vohra recently issued deadline to file the necessary details to ensure good governance by curbing the menace of corruption in public service delivery, but the babus have failed to adhere to directions.
Early Times learnt that though most non Gazzeted officers have complied with by the directions of submitting property statements but most of the KAS, IAS and IPS officers have failed to put their property statements in public domain.
These all cadres are bound to submit details of their property every year.

Jammu, May 6: A Sub-Inspector, who is posted as Station House Officer (SHO), in outskirts of Jammu district has been allegedly abusing a woman sexually.
According to sources the family of the victim woman had approached the Police after she eloped with a youth. The SHO after receiving complaint succeeded in recovering the duo.
