Modi Government mulls dialogue with separatists | | | ET Report
jammu, July 19: BJP led union Government is likely to hold talks with the separatists-indication in this regard is likely to be made in the forthcoming visit of the Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is likely to visit Srinagar next week.
"Modi government may make an announcement for holding talks with the separatists. CM Mehbooba Mufti and some other people are pushing the Modi government in this regard. However, it's not still clear at which level the talks are likely to be held," sources disclosed.
Sources said that turn-around in the thinking of BJP government has come after the death of about 40 people in the valley. The BJP government is of the view that things should not escalate much more.
"The BJP doesn't want any further escalation of the situation and doesn't want any more killing as it could go against it in the forthcoming UP elections and also affect the image of the PM Modi, which he had cultivated in the last two-years. The Central government in consultation with the state government is working out the modalities for it," said the sources.

Jammu, July 19: As the shutdown and curfew remained in force for the 12th running day across Kashmir, separatists geared up on Tuesday to add fuel to the fire by asking people to stay indoors and observe "Black Day" on Wednesday.
At many places across Srinagar and other places across Kashmir graffitis and posters have appeared asking people to observe July 20 as "Black Day" to show it to Pakistan that Kashmiris are with them.
Sources said, "Separatists have activated their henchmen and have asked them to ensure that stone pelting and protests take place across Kashmir on large scale on Wednesday so that their bosses sitting across the LoC become happy."
