Foul play suspected in police inaction | | | AB Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, July 12: Raising questions over the working of Sunderbani police, after passing of 24 hours police is reluctant to lodge FIR after AEE of Public Works Department (PWD) lodged a written complaint to the SHO Sunderbani after some miscreants damaged 1 kilometer road from Barnada to Nahoti. However, the locals warned the police department to lodge FIR unless they will block the Jammu-Poonch Highway and will sit on Hunger strike. Sources said that Road between Barnada to Nahoti was completed one year ago and a day before yesterday some miscreants damaged the 1 kilometer stretch with the help of tractor plough and following this Divisional Engineer Nowshera Parvez Iqbal directed the junior officials to send written complain to police along with Road map. If sources are to believed police also failed to paid visit to the site. SSP Rajouri Haseeb Mughal did not respond the question and Additional SP Rakesh Kumar when contacted by the Early Times said "It is better to contact concerned SHO". While SHO Sunderbani Parmood Singh responded that I had summoned that miscreants and after they will come we will take action. "Delay in the lodging FIR smell rat", said locals adding that when a civil case reported to police they immediately lodge FIR but in this case the complaint was lodged by government Agency and that's why they are delaying to lodge FIR. |
