Narcotics smuggler falls ill in custody, hospitalized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 12: Khour police today shifted Sanjay Kumar son of Narco smuggler Sarfu, who is on transit custody along with his brother, to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) after he fell ill. Police sources said that in the month of May Khour police recovered 8 kg heroin and Rs 13 Lac cash from the house of Sanjay Kumar and accordingly the police, day before yesterday, secured interim custody of Sanjay and his brother Sunny Kumar who are presently lodged in Amritsar Jail in connection with narcotics smuggling. Police sources said that today Sanjay fell ill and was immediately shifted to (GMC&H) for treatment whereas his brother namely Sunny is under the custody of Khour police. Pertinently, Preeto mother of Sanjay and wife of Sarfu alongwith three other family members were arrested when a police team along with magistrate raided their residence on May 8 when and recovered huge consignment of narcotic and psychotropic substances on their disclosures. Pertinent to mention that Sarfu Ram had become a highly controversial trans-border smuggler after his links in narco terrorism-cum-hawala channel surfaced and it was found that he had links with drug mafia in New Delhi and died mysterious under police custody in Joint Interrogation Centre Miran Sahib in the month of August in the year 2011. |
