FMPHWs protest against CMO, demand revocation of transfers

Kathua, July 12: Dozens of Female Multipurpose Workers of Health deptt today staged huge protest demonstration under the banner of FMPHW Association, District Kathua outside the office of Chief Medical Officer Kathua wherein they demanded revocation of transfers and 12 months' pending remuneration.
Led by Bholi Devi a FMPHW activist the delegation of protesters also submitted a charter of demands to Chief Minister of JK through proper channel.
While addressing to media, Bholi Devi, said they have not received monthly remuneration for last 12 months which is affecting their livelihood. She alleged that Chief Medical Officer Kathua despite having knowledge about sufferings transferred 9 FMPHWs to put curb on series ofprotest. She reiterated the demand of revocation of transfer orders of the nine employees at earliest.
Rajesh Bala, President FMPHW Distt Kathua threatened to further intensify ongoing protest if CMO Kathua fails to revoke transfer order and release of monthly remuneration.
When contacted CMO Kathua Dr Basant Kumar, said they work under Central sponsored Scheme and union government sends fund to state government for their salary under 2211 financial head. He informed that the Union government used to send quarterly that affect regularity in their monthly remuneration. He said he had taken up the matter before concerned officers who have ensured to release their monthly remuneration within days. He however outrightly rejected all allegations and said the transfers are made against vacant post and especially to streamline the health care in far remote areas of district Kathua.
