PHE pipes for schemes go in 'black market instead of water projects' | | | MS Nazki

Mendhar, Jan 19: believe it or not the Public Health Engineering (PHE) pipes were meant for various developmental works in the area marked could easily be found in black market instead of public welfare schemes i.e. various water supply schemes. Locals alleged that the PHE pipes can be purchased freely in the market due to unholy nexus of some employees and the hardware traders. Sources said, "The open loot became visible when a Tata Mobile bearing No JK12-5883 loaded with "1 and "1¼ GCI pipes of PHE department was intercepted while on its way to go for black marketing of the pipes when police team during a naka checking asked driver to produce documents for ferrying the loaded material. To the surprise of police team the driver of vehicle failed to produce documents, sources said, adding, "the police seized the vehicle along with pipes and brought it to the Police Station Mendhar." Sources said that employees and police were in hand and glove to hush up the case. When contacted Additional Development commissioner (ADC) Poonch, Shafeeq Ahmed said that without challan how material of PHE department comes out of stores is a question to be solved by all means. Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Poonch, MH Malik told Early Times that it has come to his notice and taking the cognizance of matter an action under the law shall be initiated against the accused soon, he added. |
