Madhav likely to be replaced as BJP's J&K in-charge | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 19: BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, who is also in-charge of the J&K affairs of the party, is likely to be stripped of his role in the Jammu and Kashmir. According to the party sources, the party high command has decided to bring in the new face to meet the new challenges. Sources said that BJP want to re-engineer itself after the demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the State. The party want to re-frame its position and also the new face to deal with the new set of coalition Government likely to be headed by the PDP president Mehbooba Mufti. "Ram Madhav is likely to get involved in the elections of the crucial States scheduled this year. The party needs a leader who will be available to meet the challenges after Mehbooba takes over the charge and the first few months will be crucial so there is need for a person who will be available all the time," said the sources. However, the sources said that there was a need to bring in change as the party high command especially the PM Modi was not fully 'impressed' with the handling of J&K by Madhav. Sources said that some BJP leaders have communicated to the PM Narendra Modi that they were not being taken in loop on many major developments and Madhav took many decisions unilaterally. "Ram Madhav may be an intellectual but he is not dealing with the people on day-to-day basis and also to understand and deliver on the sensibilities and sensivities of the Jammu region. And, with Mehbooba taking over and she is unlike her father, so a new face is needed who can while negotiate the compulsions of the coalition also deliver on the position of the Jammu region, the core base of the party," said the sources. According to the sources the party also feels that agenda of alliance may have worked politically for the PDP but not for the BJP and when the new CM is taking over the contours of it can also be fine tuned and for it the new face is needed. |
