Out of power, Omar's secy writes political jokes, faces brickbats | | | Early Times Report srinagar, Jan 19: After having tried luck on writing political statements for National Conference in the previous years, Tanvir Sadiq, who is the political secretary to former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, has now started writing "political jokes", which are attracting more of brickbats than any appreciation for him from political circles. Tanvir is using his Facebook and Twitter accounts to write controversial "satire" on politics of Jammu and Kashmir only to target NC's arch rival, PDP. He, however, tries to project separatists as "brave heroes" while NC leaders often like and share the "controversial" posts. His latest "satire", "All is not well", is open taunt on PDP, BJP and RSS, which he has controversially described as party of men wearing "half pants". The public post reads, like this: "All is not well with our friends. Their printer seems to be running out of ink. They say party (PDP) divided into 3 groups. First group: Don't tie up with half-pants (BJP) again, we will be decimated, mulling the idea to disassociate themselves & form a rebel group incase the party decides to form an alliance. 2nd group: Incase you tie up, induct left out MLA's, that is us, as Ministers, the previous ones should be shown door, they just enjoyed their perks. Mulling the idea to disassociate themselves & form a rebel group if their demands are not met. 3rd group: We should continue, we will face embarrassment either ways, whether elections are held today tomorrow or after a few years, so better stay on & try to do something differently, we didn't get time to work ... Now that's not fair: (Ha Ha Haa)." But his taunts on PDP and BJP have failed to attract any appreciation. "Having been left jobless you seem to be frustrated and thus make joke of yourself only to be in news," commented one Sumaira Akhter. Jaswinder posted that he was intentionally hurting the sentiments of the people associated with a particular party and thus should refrain from such "evil acts." In a comment, Tanvir reacted saying "satire is exclusively meant for those having sense of humor." Earlier he had posted a "joke", which people found "disgusting". Following lot of criticism, he deleted some of his posts. Last month he posted "satire" over implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA) and tried to ridicule to the Government. "It took just 8 days for a senior Cabinet Minister of Mufti Sayeed Sb's @jkpdp @BJP4India alliance to call #?NFSA the biggest achievement & then change it #?Shamelessly & blame the previous Government for bringing it. Didn't take much time for him to make a fool out of himself: (Ha Ha Haa)," the post reads. Despite repeated attempts Tanvir didn't respond to phone calls. But his "office assistant" confirmed about the development saying these social media accounts are officially run by Tanvir Sadiq himself. "He writes this all for public awareness... If people find alliance between PDP and BJP a laughingstock how are we to be blamed?" the NC man said. When told that many have been laughing at the man who writes this, the NC man said, "It must be handiwork of people from rival parties because our party is regaining popularity." |
