After Mufti's demise, Govt forgets 'CM's Super-50' initiative | Parents, students cry foul | | Peerzada Ummer Early Times Report srinagar, Jan 19: Government's much hyped initiative 'CM's super 50' is subtly bearing the wrath of the official apathy with complains over its functioning keep mounting every day. There are reports that the vitality of such an initiative is being undermined by the concerned authorities with no facilities being provided to the students in the coaching centres. The quality of education being provided at such centres is also being questioned and the students hailing from far flung areas of the State say they feel 'out rightly' ignored. Reports informed that since the demise of the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed on January 7, little or no attention is being given towards the coaching centres which were established by the Government amid much fanfare. Parents and students claim that the concerned authorities haven't even for a single time, since past 15 days paid any visit to such coaching centres, hence exposing the student fraternity to turbulent times ahead. Reports informed that there are no quality cheeks being conducted to ascertain whether the initiative is serving its purpose or not. Parents reveal that amid the bone chilling cold in Kashmir with temperatures dipping below the freezing point, there are no heating arrangements put in place for the children attending these centres. Further there are other related facilities which were absent in these hubs, otherwise established to impart quality education among State's younger generation. Students say that there are several subjects which aren't taught seriously in these centres as teachers there lack expertise of such subjects. "Sometimes, it is Urdu and sometimes the History which we aren't taught in these centres. There are also various problems which we face in these centres," a group of students hailing from south Kashmir said. It was also maintained that the Government, concentrates, if it ever does, on city areas while the far-flung places are ignored or left in lurch. "The concerned CEOs of various districts show different pictures to Government. The real scenes are kept hidden as that would unmask their abilities before everyone. The Government much scrutinize the functioning of each coaching centre so that the education being imparted over there would be of the good quality," Mukhtar Ahmad, a parent from north Kashmir said. The Government on December, 12 last year had launched Chief Minister's Super-50 Free Winter Tutorial initiative for students as well as medical and engineering aspirants of Jammu and Kashmir. The Government at that time said the initiative was a comprehensive free tuition program for 10th and 12th class students of Jammu and Kashmir who will be tutored by top faculty drawn from the State Government's Education Department. |
