Early Times Report JAMMU, March 02: Five-wicket haul from first class cricketer, Sameer Khajuria today guided Simula XI to an absolute nine-wicket win against United Cricket Club in the ongoing Salute and Tribute to Saichen Martyrs' Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Parade Sports Association at Parade Ground, here today. Sameer took five wickets for 17 runs in his four overs spell to halt United innings to a small total. Earlier, batting first, United Club bowled out for 83 runs playing all 20 overs. Rayees Ahmed and Shoaib Jeelani were main scorers with 29 and 17 runs in their respective accounts. From Simula XI, besides five wickets by Sameer, Kulwinder Singh also bowled well taking away four wickets for 24 runs in four overs. Other wicket was taken by Vikram Singh. Later, chasing a small total, Simula attained the target in just 11.3 overs with nine wickets in hand. Anshuman (45 off 33 balls, 8x4) and Shashi Kumar (23, 4x4) played unbeaten innings for Simula. The only wicket lost by Simula was taken by Saquib. For his brilliant bowling, Sameer was adjudged man of the match. |
