Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 2: A Dabang Police officer has unleashed the "reign of terror "against bikers at Akhnoor by giving corporal punishment to them that too in full public view.
A Dabang Deputy Superintended of Police (DySP) has adopted an inhumane way of punishing the traffic violators. "The SDPO Akhnoor had raised a naka at Khugga Morh falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor Police Station on Tuesday and intercepted many bikers along with their pillon rider at Khugga Morh."
The dabang DySP, according to the witnesses, first slapped one of the youth who was driving the motorcycle and ordered him to bend on his toes in full public glare while pillion rider Amit Sangotra who had taken the lift from the motorcyclist resisted the diktats pleading that he had recently met with an accident owing to which he cannot bend.
"This infuriated the DySP and he asked asked his PSOs to slap Amit and stand towards facing the wall," witnesses added.
Amit Sangotra while talking to Early Times rued that although he had informed the 'rowdy' DySP that he is suffering from systolic murmur but the DySP again slapped him following which he became unconscious.
Later, Anil was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Akhnoor for treatment.
Anil further lamented that he had not committed any offence by taking the lift. " I want to ask the police higher ups why DySP punished me?"
The Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajinder when contacted by Early Times, said that he would look into the matter and if anybody found is guilty he will be punished.
